Lekalake Primary School
We have worked with Lawrence’s Roundabout on a project in South Africa, which benefits 570 learners and 16 educators, and this is a little bit more about it.
The school mostly relies on community water, when it is available which is not very often. Currently the borehole is fitted with an electrical pump but it breaks regularly because of power surges and electrical outages. Last time it was working was 4 months ago.
The caretaker says it costs too much to fix the pump and pay for the electricity. It is chaotic at the school when there is no water and the children have to be sent home early.
They love the idea of a PlayPump having seen it at other schools.
