We have worked with Drop4Drop on a project in Uganda which benefits 310 people and this is a little bit more about it.
“The long walk in search of potable water had a grave impact on our households. Children’s education was disrupted as they needed to help their parents fetch water and firewood. The situation also affected the hygiene of the community as a whole. “We would some times go with out bathing some days and because we depended on dirty water, we contracted water-borne diseases which led to rampant cases of diarrhea. More than 300 community members of Kiboirwa village now enjoy access to water from improved water source.”
George Katumba, Community Member
This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
